The 36° edition of Sigep, Rimini, the “International exhibition for artisan production of gelato, pastry, confectionery and bakery”, wound down some days ago, and thus, it is time to take stock. For Caffè Barbera, guest at the Pernigotti stand, they were five intense, highly rewarding days. The cooperation between the two time-honoured companies, coming together in their passion for tradition, was yet again an excellence chance to offer clients visiting the stand that captivating blend of unmistakable tastes of coffee and high quality chocolate.
There was a remarkably high number of visitors: Caffè Barbera served a good 9 kg of coffee per day, which means around 1,000 cups of coffee! A real success, along with it being a great opportunity to meet clients directly who were present at the Fair with their own business activities, who however, took the time to come visit the Caffè Barbera corner to taste a great espresso. The most requested blend was Pregiata, which holds the CSC certificate – Certified Speciality Coffee Association, created for preparing a full-bodied, intense rich coffee, with an elegant aroma, and pleasant overtones.
Participation at this prestigious event meant that Caffè Barbera also made numerous international contacts, thus opening up to important foreign market opportunities.
Sigep 2015 was a tremendous success with the public, as can be seen from the data: 187,233 visitors, an increase of 8% from the past; foreign visitors alone were 38,122, which was 10% up on 2014. The success of this edition further confirms the interest which the gelato, pastry, bakery, coffee, chocolate and food service is generating both in Italy and abroad. For food Made in Italy, this is a very positive sign and of extreme importance just three months before Expo 2015.
